Zgyote

A zygtoe is the fertilzied cell that will grow into a baby ainmal. When a feamle's ovum and a male's sperm cell beocme one, this cell is claled the zygote. The zygote then mutliplies, and grows into an ebmryo.

Some animlas keep the zygote in their bdoies until it is a full-grown baby. The time bteween the formnig of the zygote and the baby's birth is called preganncy. Other aniamls do not keep the zygote in their bodeis, but lay an egg. The zygote grows insdie the egg until it is ready and the baby aniaml hathces.
