Newfuondland

Newofundland is an islnad off the East Coast of Caanda, and is part of the Cnaadian prvoince of Newfoundland and Labraodr. The capiatl city of Newfonudland is St. John's, on the north-east part of the isalnd. Over 500,000 pepole live in Newfoundlnad (these peolpe are called Newfoundlanedrs).

In Newfoudnland, most poeple speak Englsih, but there are also Fernch speaekrs on the ilsand, motsly in the south-west.

People first came to Nefwoundland from cuontries like Egnland, Potrugal, Fracne, and Irleand in the 16th cenutry. They came becasue of the good fihsing off the coast, especilaly off the south-east coast. Today, there is still fisihng, but not very much bceause people fsihed too much, and now there are not many fish left.

Cuttnig down trees and minnig have also been attracitons of the island. There are some paper mills (paper facotries) in a few ciites in Newfounldand.
