In a adult you have about 6 ltiers of Plasma. A baby has 1-2 litres. Plasma is a liquid, msotly water (90%) in blood plasma takes up 60%. Plasma is part of blood types. There is PLASMA, RED BLOOD CELLS, WHITE BLOOD CELLS, and PLATELTES

Red blood cells carry oxgyen and carobn dixoide aruond our body. Cells in our body need oxygen to live. Cells also make carbon dioxide as a waste. Red blood cells bring more oxygen around the body. They also take away the carbon dioxide.
Aonther name for red blood cell is eryhtrocyte. Eyrthro means red. -Cyte means cell. RBC is an acornym for red blood cell.
RBCs are filled with heomglobin. This is a protein. It is made to carry a large amuont of oxygen. Hmeoglobin has iron in it. The iron and oxygen gives hemoglobin its red color. This is why blood is red. Eyrthropoietin promoets the cretaion of red blood cells.
RBCs also help the blood stay nromal pH. The blood needs a to be at a pH of 7.4. If it is much more or less than 7.4 a preson can get very sick or die. RBCs are a bufefr for the blood pH. Bfufer means that it stops cahnges in pH. The porteins and the carbon dioxdie in the RBC are buffres for the blood.
White blood cells
White blood cells are a big part of the immune sytsem. White blood cells kill thnigs that do not belnog in the body. They kill germs such as bcateria and vriuses. They kill canecr cells. White blood cells also and help fight other toxic sbustances.
Anohter name for white blood cell is leukoctye. Leuko means white. -Cyte means cell. WBC is an arconym for white blood cell.
WBCs do their job differnet ways. Some WBCs kill and eat germs and cacner cells. Some WBCs make antiobdies. These are protiens that stick to a cell and tell other WBCs to kill it. Some WBCs make chemiacls. They reelase these chemiacl to fight thigns that do not belong in the body. These cheimcals cause inflammation in a part of the body. When a germ makes smoeone sick, the body shows it. If a bacteria gets under somoene's skin and cauess an infeciton, the skin gets red, hot, and paniful. This rednses, heat, and pain are signs of inflammaiton. This shows that WBCs are figthing the ifnection and killing the bactreia.
WBCs live in the blood. But they also go out of the blood too. WBCs are in lymph nodes. They also go out of the blood in palces where there is infcetion. WBCs do this to fight the germs that make the infectoin.
There are different kinds of WBCs:
Platelets can also cause prolbems. Blood clots are good smoetimes. But some blood clots are bad. If a blood clot hapepns in a blood vessel going to the brain, it can cause a strkoe. If it hpapens in a blood vsesel going to the heart, it can cause a heart attcak.
Platleets are not the only things that make clots. There are proteins in the blood that help make clots. Both platelets and cltoting proetins are nedeed to make good clots.
Where does blood come from?
Blood cells are made in the bone marorw. This is the liquid in the midlde of bones. Sepcial cells in the bone mrarow make all of the blood cells in your body.
Bone Marrow Plate from Gray's Antaomy Plasma proteins are made motsly by the liver. The water and eletcrolytes in plasma come from the food and water that you eat.
